Press release
FLIR introduces FLIR ResearchIR
Software for R&D and Science professionals
FLIR Systems not only produces the best thermal imaging camera systems, FLIR also wants users of thermal imaging systems to work more efficiently and productively.
Therefore FLIR Systems introduces FLIR ResearchIR.
FLIR ResearchIR software is aimed at R&D and Science users of thermal imaging cameras with a cooled or uncooled detector. FLIR ResearchIR takes the most out of a thermal imaging camera and allows high speed recording and advanced thermal patterns analysis. ResearchIR is the perfect tool for industrial R&D. Users that are interested in more advanced science applications can choose for ResearchIR Max.
Key features FLIR ResearchIR
The most important features of FLIR ResearchIR are:
- View, record and store images at high speed
- Post-processing of fast thermal events
- Generate time-temperature plots from live images or recorded sequences
- Advanced Start/Stop recording conditions
- Unlimited number of analysis functions (Spot, Line, Area)
- File organizer with Quick Collection and preview of sequences
- Zoom & Pan allows a closer look
- Multiple user-configurable tabs for live images, recorded images or plot
Key features FLIR ResearchIR Max
FLIR ResearchIR Max contains all the features or FLIR ResearchIR. Furthermore it contains features for advanced thermal analysis, such as:
- Pre/Post Triggering
- Mathematical processing toolbox
- Image filtering toolbox
- Multiple camera support for parallel recording
- Radiometric Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE) improves dramatically the understanding of the thermal scene, still keeping the radiometric measurement accuracy.
The perfect combination
FLIR ResearchIR in combination with a FLIR thermal imaging camera is the perfect solution for any R&D / Science application. It will allow researchers in all field to make the smallest of temperature differences visible and to thoroughly analyse thermal process in real-time.
About thermal imaging
Thermal imaging is the use of cameras constructed with specialty sensors that “see” thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible to the human eye because its wavelength is too long to be detected. It’s the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes can not. Thermal imaging cameras produce images of invisible infrared or “heat” radiation. Based on temperature differences between objects, thermal imaging produces a clear image. It is an excellent tool for predictive maintenance, building inspections, research & development and automation applications. It can see in total darkness, in the darkest of nights, through light fog, in the far distance, through smoke. It is also used for security and surveillance, maritime, automotive, firefighting and many other applications.
About FLIR Systems
FLIR Systems is the world leader in the design and manufacturing of thermal imaging cameras for a wide variety of applications. It has over 50 years of experience and thousands of thermal imaging cameras currently in use worldwide for predictive maintenance, building inspections, research & development, security and surveillance, maritime, automotive and other night-vision applications. FLIR Systems has eight manufacturing plants located in the USA (Portland, Boston, Santa Barbara and Bozeman), Stockholm, Sweden, Talinn, Estonia and near Paris, France. It operates offices in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Dubai, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, UK and the USA. The company has over 3,200 dedicated infrared specialists, and serves international markets through an international distributor network providing local sales and support functions.
