NOTE: Please be aware of the fact that even though the PathFindIR appears to be the same as the Night Vision camera used on some BMW models, these devices are not compatible. Although the mechanical and operational properties of these cameras are similar, the interface and software in the cameras sold to BMW and other OEMs are unique configurations. For example, cameras sold to manufacturers contain encoded keys that must match with other vehicle identification information in order to operate. FLIR feels that it is necessary to document this fact so that potential users understand that a camera removed from a commercial vehicle, although it may look like a PathFindIR, cannot be made to operate when separated from the vehicle. Also a PathFindIR cannot be used as a replacement for a camera on a vehicle that was originally equipped with a Night Vision system.
