FLIR Scout introduced at CES
by FLIR on January 12, 2010, Events
For those of you who missed us at CES, let me introduce you to FLIR Scout. The green first cousin of the FLIR H-Series, the FLIR Scout is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Check out this video from CES that shows the camera in action. The camera was also featured at show stoppers. Look for more about the FLIR Scout in the coming months.

The title of the video is misleading. The Scout is not a "Night Vision Camera". It's a thermal imager, a completely different technology.

Greg, you're correct. Sometimes we'll use the term "thermal night vision" because a thermal camera is especially useful at night when there is very little to no visible light. A night vision camera will show an enhanced image when there is some visible light, a thermal camera shows you an objects heat without needing any visible light.
