When the USMC needed a powerful and reliable thermal imaging system to upgrade the Corps' Bell UH-1N helicopters in 1993, they turned to FLIR Systems. Since then, FLIR has provided answers including its state-of-the-art BRITE Star® Block II airborne imaging and designation system going on the UH-1N and Y models.  This system enhances then UH-1N/Y's ability to rapidly identify objects at long range.  It also strengthens the USMC's capabilities in airborne operations - from navigation to surveillance, designation and more.
