Can I use a car adaptor or external battery power pack to charge my handheld camera?

The H-Series and BH-Series family of cameras come with an AC-to-DC power supply that connects to the camera through the hot-shoe and charges the included NiMH batteries.

An alternative power supply can be used as long as it meets the following specifications:

Output: 12 VDC, ~800 to 1000 mA

Connector Size: 5.5mm (Outside barrel) x 2.5mm (Inside Barrel)

Center: Positive.

Originally some of the H-Series cameras included a car adapter, but because it did not have a CE certification it was removed from the product accessories list and from the manuals and brochures.
