ResearchIR crashes at start-up and I cannot use the program. What should I do?

This could be due to a faulty configuration. To solve this, do the following:

  1. Go to the folder C:\Users\<useraccountname>\AppData\Roaming, where <useraccountname> is the name of the Windows user account that you are currently logged into. You may have to enable the Windows option of viewing hidden folders.
  2. Rename the folder ResearchIR to _ResearchIR or something similar to back up the configuration folder.
  3. Start ResearchIR 4 again, and a new configuration folder will be created from scratch, which should solve the problem.
