2025-2026 App Challenge Winners
After months of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on development, the latest Flir iXX App Development Challenge has officially concluded. This global competition brought together developers from around the world to create powerful mobile applications using Flir's thermal imaging technology and the Flir ACE Platform.
Participants were tasked with building real-world solutions that integrate thermal data, sensor readings, and imaging into practical workflows across industries. From industrial inspections to energy efficiency and beyond, the breadth of ideas made selecting finalists and winners a true challenge.
The competition followed a structured journey from concept submissions in late 2025, through finalist selection and a dedicated development phase, to final judging in March 2026. Winners were officially announced in April 2026.

Grand Prize Winner
Solar-Snap (Asset-Linked Solar Panel Mapper) took the top prize in the 2025-2026 App Challenge.
The app stood out for its ability to transform solar inspections by linking thermal data directly to specific assets. The solution enables:
- Instant asset traceability
- Improved clean energy performance
- Reduced maintenance bottlenecks
- Lower operational costs
- Increased power yield without additional hardware
By turning Flir cameras into fully connected field-to-cloud inspection tools, Solar Snap demonstrates how thermal imaging can streamline renewable energy operations and scale efficiently.
Second Place
Reahx secured second place with a strong focus on safety and inspection accuracy.
The app enhances hazard inspections across process equipment by guiding users through structured, equipment-specific safety checks. Key capabilities include:
- Guided inspection workflows tailored to equipment types
- Thermal profile capture and analysis
- Matching recorded data to a database of operating procedures
- Real-time validation of safe working conditions
This approach ensures that inspections are not only faster but also aligned with established safety standards, reducing risk in industrial environments.
