I cannot create FLIR reports in Office 2013/2016. What do I do?

If you are unable to create a FLIR report in Microsoft Office 2013/2016 or cannot create a report from FLIR Tools+/FLIR Reporter after installation of Office, the FLIR Word add-in may not be present in Word.

One cause of this is that you installed a "Click to run" Microsoft Office installation. Unfortunately, as Microsoft points out, "Click to run" installations may not work with some Word add-ins. The current FLIR add-in is not compatible with "Click to run" installations, and a regular installation of Office is required for the add-in. To resolve this, we are developing a new FLIR add-in that is compatible with all Office versions.

To identify if you have a "click to run" installation or a "regular" Office installation, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Office, and click on "Change." In the window that opens you will see different options depending on whether it is a "regular" or "Click-to-run" version. See the image below:

If you have a "Click to run" installation of Office, follow the steps in the link below to get the full "regular" installation:

Next, carry out the following steps:

  1. Uninstall FLIR Tools+/FLIR Reporter.
  2. Uninstall Microsoft Office "Click to run".
  3. Reboot.
  4. Install Microsoft Office ("regular" installation).
  5. Install FLIR Tools+/FLIR Reporter.
