Pan/Tilt for top-mounted Payloads up to 5 lbs

Standing only six inches tall when fully integrated, the FLIR PTU-5 can hold up to five pounds on its top bracket, packing incredible performance into a compact package. Even with its small size the PTU-5 is more accurate than many other — more expensive — systems thanks to the absolute encoders used on the drive axes. Fully sealed and weatherproof rated to IP67, the PTU-5 can be used anywhere, even outdoors.

FLIR PTU E46

Miniature Computer-Controlled Pan/Tilt Unit

The PTU-E46 family of miniature pan/tilt units provide fast, precise positioning in an extremely small and lightweight package. They are fully computer-controlled and offer programmability of speed, acceleration, power, and other parameters. The included controller, with built-in RS-232, Ethernet, and RS-485 interfaces, handles precise kinematic motion control according to user-set parameters. The PTU-E46 units accept ASCII and binary command formats and is networkable. Commands can be sent at high speeds for demanding applications, such as laser scanning and video tracking.

The PTU-E46 series will discontinue on March 1, 2024. The last day of support from Teledyne FLIR will be June 2025. For more information regarding the discontinuation process and to see what alternative solutions we recommend, please reference the EOL notice below.

The PTU-D48 E-Series supports any type of single or multi-part payload through a flexible bracketing system of top and/or side mounting. The real-time command interface supports advanced applications such as video tracking. Pan/Tilt Software Development Kit

FLIR MCS pan-tilts are designed for high-performance control with low-latency and jitter and high command rates. There are multiple ways to control the units. FLIR MCS pan-tilts support both a simple ASCII command protocol, documented in the E Series Command Reference Manual as well as a binary form of the commands, supported by a portable C language library (PTU-SDK). The PTU-SDK is provided as source code and can be compiled on any computing platform. It allows applications to send commands to the pan-tilt over serial or Ethernet interfaces seamlessly.

PTU-5 Side Mount Payload Bracket

Side-mounting payload bracket for the PTU-5 pan tilt. Up to 3 lb capacity per side, 6 lb total with two side brackets. Side bracket use requires removal of the PTU-5 top bracket. (Side and top brackets cannot be used together at the same time.)

The PTU-D47 computer-controlled pan/tilt is compact, lightweight, versatile, and field-proven across hundreds of applications. It is a low-cost, off the-shelf solution for positioning camera, laser, antenna, or other payloads up to 12 pounds. It features a fully-integrated, mil-style controller with a single weatherized connection for power and pan/tilt control, as well as optional payload signal management. The side-mount bracket allows positioning payloads for a lower center-of-gravity, and for mounting multiple payloads (top and side).
