RTools supports Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 and Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.  Under Windows 2000, it has been found that the Gigabit Ethernet drivers work well but are not as reliable as they are under Windows XP.  It should also be noted that RTools 2.1 does not support Windows XP 64-bit
