Changing the prefix for a report property
General
When a report has been generated, a Report properties dialog box will be displayed. In this dialog box you can enter customer information and information about the inspection.
The information you enter in this dialog box will then populate the corresponding placeholders in the report.
The report properties show up dependent on the fact that they start with an underscore (_). However, if you have created your own custom templates, you may have created report properties with a different prefix, e.g., using a percentage sign (%), a dollar sign ($), a hash sign (#), or the whole or part of your company name (e.g., “ACME”). To have these properties show up when you have generated the report, you need to update the property FLIR_ReportPropertyPrefix.
Procedure
This procedure assumes that you have created your own set of custom report properties, using a prefix
other than the underscore (_).
Follow this procedure:
1. Start Microsoft Word and open one of your infrared report templates (*.dotx). You can locate the report templates that are shipped with Flir Tools+ by typing the following path: C:\Documents and Settings\[Your user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\IR
2. On the File tab, click Info.
3. From the Properties download menu, select Advanced Properties.
4. On the Summary tab, enter your information in the appropriate text boxes.
5. Click the Custom tab.
6. Under Properties, select FLIR_ReportPropertyPrefix.
7. Under Value, type the prefix that you want to use for your custom report properties.
8. Save the report template as a *.dotx file.
