Main/Hero Images

A hero image is typically the main image representing a product online.

Product is angled to show depth and maximum features.

  • Not shot straight on
  • Product is "ready for action"

Image background is removed or is pure white.
Dramatic lighting with reflections or shadows are preferred.

  • Must be high quality, realistic, and blend into the pure white background.

Minimize image padding and reduce white border space.

  • Image should occupy a minimum of 85% of the space

Use only one product per image

  • Two products (front and back) may act as an alternative image on some ecommerce sites.

Screen must be On and displaying the applicable images and data.

 

 

 

 

Front/Back Combo

A front/back image adds a layer of depth, detail, and texture to the product.

Maximize the information in the single image
Image should occupy a minimum of 85% of the space

Display clearly visible branding

Product Feature Overlay and Infographics

Provide important information on features and functions.

Background color should be consistent across the products features, two
options:
Gradient Version:

Feature labels follow the 1pt rule, underlines feature label:

  • Angle to indicate feature position
  • White or black, opposite of the background color

Product should hover slightly off the surface, with a light shadow
Utilize picture-in-picture as needed

IR Application Images

Clearly communicate the imaging capabilities of the FLIR product they represent.

Image should be from corresponding camera/tool.
Provide a variety of examples of the camera's applications.
Always use the maximum resolution provided by the camera:

  • If a product family varies by resolution, provide examples for comparison

Use examples with clear contrast.
Image can be enhanced if clearly labeled.
Clear IR image (MSX© is OK) with the center point as measurement only.
Additional measurement tools and image modes provide great supplemental visual information.
