What emissivity settings should I use when looking at PCBs and electronics?

If you're looking at a plastic surface, use an emissivity of 0.9—but remember that metal will then be shown as colder in the image. If you're imaging metal, the emissivity should be about 0.15 (depending on the metal and its coating).

For more info about emissivity, read the attached paper or sign up for an ITC class, e.g. "ITC-EXP-2036: FLIR Industrial R&D Measurements."
